This theme looks more interesting.
I have spent most of the day playing with graphic design. I guess it is my current love. I am doing a few things for the Red Cross and for a couple of other non-profit organizations. It is good to feel useful and to be able to help someone, something, or some entity.
What beautiful weather we have had this week. Got lots of things done around here. Did not get beyond San Francisco. In the process of replacing my patio canopy with awnings and in the interim I am enjoying looking out my window at the beautiful nectarine tree in bloom with the beginning of the fresh green leaves. Ahh spring is such a lovely time of the year.
Here is a photo of my little doggie. She is a Maltese-Poodle mix. She weighs about 12 pounds and is a little sweetheart.
Now that the big yearly even is finished I am the person designated to try to match the items that were not picked up with the winning bidders. So far it has all worked out well.
I have a long weekend and am considering getting out of town for a few days. It will likely not happen because I have a lot of homework such as writing blogs and tweets, doing some drawing, and cant always take my dog with me. This social media class is going to be a LOT of work but I think will be rewarding in the end because I hope to know how to work my way around the many different interfaces of the several programs we will be working with.
This image has nothing to do with anything posted. It is just a Happy Valentine Day inclusion.
Saturday February 9th is the annual GALA of “Paws for Love,” an organization dedicated to help animals in need. Each year they hold this GALA and raise money for the animals. The money is given to shelters or wherever animals are in need or care. I somehow became involved with the group last year when I attended the GALA. It was a lovely event. I learned what the organizer does and decided to become involved. The director is an artist who got the idea of selling abstract art created by shelter animals and adopted animals. The animals create the art by using their paws or tails smearing finger paints around on art paper. As it turns out, these artistic creations sell very well at the yearly silent auction. My dog Muffy has created one and it will be up for auction tomorrow. I think it will go to a very high bidder.
All of the artwork is professionally matted and framed. The event also features complimentary appetizers, wine, collector logo wine glass, music by DJ and pianist, a live auction, a silent auction of items other than animal art. There will be “Paws for Love” items for sale including T-shirts, shopping bags and cookbooks. The cookbooks include recipes for cat and dog treats.
I believe it will be delightful evening.
